# ⚔️ Hunted Challenge ☠

## ☠️ Haunted Castle

#### What is the Haunted Castle?

The Haunted Castle is AshBlossom SMP's most intense PVE experience available in **Solo** and **DUO** modes. Enter a private arena and face 15 escalating waves of named, geared, and cursed elite mobs. Each wave is harder than the last. Your completion time is permanently recorded on a leaderboard. The faster you finish, the higher you rank.

***

#### How to Start

#### **Solo Mode**

**Java Edition:**

```
/challengestart
```

**Bedrock Edition:**

```
/cstart
```

**DUO Mode**

**Java Edition (invite a partner):**

```
/duostart <playername>
```

Your partner receives an invite and must type `/duoaccept` to confirm.

**Bedrock Edition:** Ask a Java player to invite you with `/duostart <yourname>`, then type:

```
/duoaccept
```

If all arenas are occupied you will be placed in a queue automatically. When a slot opens you will be teleported in — no need to do anything.

#### The Rules

* You have **3 lives**. Dying costs one life you respawn at the arena entrance with a fresh kit.
* Lose all 3 lives and the run ends immediately.
* You cannot break or place blocks inside the arena.
* Mobs drop nothing no loot, no XP.
* **Your mobs are yours.** Other players in adjacent arenas cannot damage your mobs and you cannot damage theirs.
* If you disconnect during a solo run, your run ends and your arena slot is freed.

**DUO-specific rules**

* Both players share **3 lives total** — any death from either player costs a shared life.
* If your partner disconnects mid-run, you continue solo with whatever lives remain.
* Your partner can rejoin by typing `/duostart` (Java) or `/duojoin` (Bedrock). They are teleported back in without a kit — they keep whatever they have.
* If both players disconnect, the run ends.

#### The Waves

There are **15 waves**. Each wave introduces new and more dangerous enemy types. All mobs glow so you can track them through walls and corridors.

> All mobs have permanent fire resistance — fire and lava will not save you. Mobs spawn at the top of each wave — give them a moment to path toward you.

**Wave Progression**

| Wave | Enemies | What Makes Them Dangerous |

#### Enemy Roster

**Rotblade / Dustwalker** — Armored zombies and husks. Entry-level threat. Still dangerous in later waves with Strength III.

**Bonearrow Skeleton** — Enchanted bow with Flame. Sets you on fire from range while melee mobs engage up close.

**Frostshot Stray** — Shoots Slowness arrows. Being slowed while surrounded is a death sentence.

**Cursed Blade / Soul Reaper / Death Reaper / Void Reaper** — Wither Skeletons with enchanted swords. Every hit applies Wither — your health bar turns black and drains silently.

**Venom Caster / Hexblade / Doom Witch** — Witches throw Poison, Harming II, Slowness and Weakness constantly. They counter your own potions. Always kill witches first.

**Raider Shot** — Pillagers with Quick Charge and Piercing crossbows. Relentless ranged pressure.

**Ironclad Axeman / Warbringer / Diamond Warbringer / Doom Vindicator** — Vindicators with enchanted axes. They sprint, they hit through your shield timing.

**Gold Fanatic / Gilded Berserker** — Zombified Piglins. Permanently hostile in the Overworld. They will never stop chasing you.

**Brute Enforcer / Netherite Brute / Doom Brute** — Piglin Brutes. No distraction, no barter, no mercy. Netherite axe, full diamond armor, Strength III.

**Inferno Blaze / Hellfire Blaze / Doom Blaze** — Blazes fly and shoot fireballs. Wind Charges are your best tool against them.

**Void Mite / Castle Crawler** — Small, fast, annoying. Low HP but disrupt your movement in early waves.

#### Tips & Strategy

**Witches are the highest priority target every wave.** A Witch throwing Weakness and Poison while you fight Brutes will kill you faster than anything else.

**The Wither effect is invisible death.** When your health bar turns black, use a Healing potion immediately. Do not ignore it.

**Mobs glow — use it.** You can spot mobs through walls and around corners. Use this to plan your approach instead of walking into a pile.

**Arrows are limited — no Infinity.** 64 arrows per life. Use them on Blazes and ranged targets. Don't waste them on melee mobs you can reach.

**Wind Charges on Blazes.** Launch them upward and break their line of sight. While they reposition, kill the melee threats.

**Ender Pearls are your escape tool.** If five mobs surround you and you need a second to breathe, pearl to the other side.

**Wave 10 onward — Blazes force movement.** You cannot stand still. Use the full arena.

**Wave 13+ — Strength III means mobs hit hard even through potions.** Keep moving, use your shield on Vindicators, and save a Strength potion for yourself.

**DUO tip — split priorities.** One player focuses melee, one focuses Witches and Blazes. Communication matters more than raw skill.

#### Leaderboard

Only successful 15-wave completions are recorded. Your best time is saved permanently.

**Solo:** `/challengeleaderboard` (Java) or `/clb` (Bedrock) **DUO:** `/duoleaderboard` (Java) or `/dlb` (Bedrock)

Leaderboards are also displayed on holograms at spawn.

***

#### Boss Bar

While in the challenge a purple boss bar shows your current wave, mobs remaining, and lives left. The bar disappears when you leave the arena or when your run ends.

Good luck. The castle remembers everyone who walks its halls. ☠
